Ndizeka (Myhre long-time friend and student) and his wife Juliette (one of our precious staff members) received the amazing gift of a new child a few days ago, early on the morning of January 3rd. This was one big baby; he weighed in at 4.3 kg, almost ten pounds – that’s huge here! Everyone credits the great CSB food for his health! Julie had a hard but very successful and blessed labor. Mamma and baby are both doing beautifully, and since they are our neighbors we get to spend time with them everyday!

Here is the result of 70 families/individuals at our sending church writing us cards!! It’s a whole bunch of blessing. There were so many cards we couldn’t even fit them all on our bulletin board so Naomi and Quinn are holding up the overflow. Those words were life, my friends, thank you.

I passed my baby name book around to the pregnant staff/staff wives and now we are seeing some new names! One more way I am ruining indigenous culture. But Nancy is a little sweetie-pie and her Mamma let’s Naomi hold her day and night. Her mother is a CSB graduate who married one of our staff members (he wasn’t on-staff at the time she was here, thankfully!) She has a sweet, gentle and loving spirit that is the legacy of many staff and missionaries pouring into her and other students. I’m so thankful to have her as my new neighbor.
